“It takes a village to raise a child.” African proverb
We begin by acknowledging the Gadigal people, the traditional owners of this land, and pay respect to Elders past and present.
Here at Kindamindi, we believe that we are a part of a bigger and diverse community which we embrace with inclusiveness and respect. We recognise that our children are growing up in the midst of various community influences to learn from and to explore. We support the partnership that teachers, parents and the members of the community have, to bring-out the best in the children both as confident learners and as responsible citizens.
We recognise that the shared responsibility of caring for and educating them provides them with rich, varied and infinite sources of inspiration for their life journey. More than acquiring knowledge, we believe in providing opportunities for children to test these sets of knowledge in their attempts to know and discover more. Central in our practice is every child’s best interest. We believe that everything we see them do, say and think is part of the process of their “becoming”, happening in a physical environment that is safe and provides challenging experiences. It is our collective duty therefore to support them to succeed in all the ways we possibly can.
